About Kirbie

Kirbie MacEwen (they/them) specializes in working with clients experiencing trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, gender exploration, and life transitions. As a member of the LGBTQIA + community, they are especially passionate about serving their community. Kirbie firmly believes that self-discovery is a process that occurs throughout the lifespan, and that this process is deeply impacted by larger societal structures, as well as interpersonal and relational dynamics.

Kirbie earned a B.S. in Psychology, and Women and Gender Studies from Suffolk University. Upon graduating, they attended social work school. They graduated from Simmons University in 2017 with a Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree, and have since gone on to earn independent licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).

  • Helping clients heal from fatphobic culture and embrace body liberation.

  • For in person clients, talk therapy outdoors while on a walk to connect with yourself and nature.

  • For clients exploring gender identity and/or transitions, both through exploration in therapy and also with concrete support such as gender affirming surgery letters, and insurance navigation.

  • A holding space for clients without pathologizing their grief. Aiding in loss and transitions through a variety of traditional and non-traditional practices including ritual and spirituality to develop relationships with grief.

  • Individual and group therapy for people navigating their queer identities in an unjust world.

  • Providing a libertory and sex positive space for all!

  • For clients exploring consensual monogamy, and diverse relationship and family structures.

  • Providing ongoing individual and group Ketamine assisted therapy along with preparation and integration of other personal psychedelic experiences.

  • Utilizing a variety of holistic, bottom up modalities such as Internal Family Systems, psychedelic assisted therapy, and somatic and relational therapies.

  • Approaching therapy from an identity based perspective, and utilizing the neurodivergent umbrella to understand diagnosis from a non pathologizing lens.
