I believe in the healing power of self compassion and I want to support you in believing and integrating that too. Utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities is important when navigating complex trauma, and the complex emotional worlds of all people. I have found that blending somatic skills building, psycho-education of the brain body connection, and the Internal Family systems (IFS) model are some of the most effective and helpful tools.
IFS is a model based on the understanding that we as people, are made up of many parts, that took on jobs to help us to navigate the world. Some of those jobs were formed to protect us from trauma and discomfort. This model also centers around the concept of “inner healing intelligence.” Meaning that everyone has exactly what they need to heal and grow already inside of them. I like this model primarily because it centers around the concept that people are not broken things that need to be fixed. But instead, the culture we live in is broken, and you have done everything you can to survive it. I incorporate eco-therapy and psychedelics in support of these modalities when appropriate as well.
Individual & Group Therapy
Psychedelic Assisted Therapy
I do not believe in any kind of “magic pill” for addressing and treating our symptoms. I have witnessed the healing power of psychedelic treatment and believe that Ketamine Assisted Psycho-therapy (KAP) can be effective for supporting healing and growth. I see KAP as a way of accessing wounded parts that we may not be able to access in an ordinary state of consciousness. The window of “neuro-plasticity” that Ketamine provides helps us to integrate what we learn from these parts. KAP has demonstrated efficacy in treating depression, particularly treatment-resistant depression and suicidal ideation. Ketamine has also been shown to alleviate symptoms of chronic anxiety and PTSD. I work with referral sources to provide access to prescriptions for Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.
What does a KAP session look like?
KAP sessions happen in a series of preparation, medicine, and integration sessions. Preparation sessions are for setting intentions and getting to know more about the process. It is an opportunity to ask questions as well as intentionally create a container, personal expectation, or hope for the medicine session. This can sound like what you are hoping to feel, work on, think about, experience in an unordinary state of consciousness. Medicine sessions are longer sessions where the actual use of the Ketamine takes place. These session are three hours long. I sit with you for the entirety of the session. There is a session ritual that can be modified to fit your needs and comforts. We can talk more explicitly about this in a consultation and preparation session. Integration sessions are non medicated sessions usually a day or two post medicine session to support the integration of what you experienced while in an unordinary state of consciousness. Some people choose to do this process once, some choose to do it many times. I am happy to discuss any fears, questions, concerns around KAP sessions with you.
Consultations, Supervision, & Workshops
Supporting professional clinicians, practitioners, and students seeking ongoing consultation and clinical supervision towards licensure. As well as facilitating workshops in topics such as kink, polyamory, body liberation, and psychedelic assisted therapy.
I love to consult and collaborate with other clinicians, body workers, and healing arts practitioners of all kinds. I enjoy supporting students and newer clinicians in establishing themselves in the field and finding their own style and voice in therapy. I believe that our therapist education systems are rooted in white supremacy culture and that really skews our views on our clients and ourselves. I like to support clinicians and healers that are liberation minded, and open to curiously questioning the pathologizing methods we have been taught to use. To me this means integrating the neurodivergent umbrella, queer and trans affirming care, antiracist paradigms, restorative justice practices, and person centered approach to diagnosis and treatment. If this sounds close to your values and you’d like to collaborate please reach out.
I also present workshops on kink, polyamory, psychedelics, and body/sexual liberation in Boston for the past three years in various settings such as Boston’s Sex Week and The Meeting Point’s Radical Wellness Fair. I love to offer my knowledge in these settings with an emphasis on group participation and discussion.
